Chick Corea & Kurt Elling Win Best Jazz instrumental and Vocal Album Grammy Awards
Chick Corea & John McLaughlin Five Peace Band picked up a Grammy Award for Best Jazz Instrumental Album (Individual or Group) for 2009's Five Peace Band - Live. Released on Concord Records, the double-disc was recorded during Corea & McLaughlin’s European tour last fall and features Corea and McLaughlin’s inspired duets.
Kurt Elling also picked up a Grammy for Best Jazz Vocal Album for Dedicated To You: Kurt Elling Sings The Music Of Coltrane And Hartman, released on Concord Jazz Records. The live collection was recorded in January 2009 at the Allen Room in the Lincoln Center, New York as part of Lincoln Center’s American Songbook series.
